Our Vision
We envision a future where Áak’w Kwáan history is preserved accurately, Indigenous voices are centered, and relationships to land and water are restored through care, responsibility, and long-term stewardship.
Mission Statement
As the Áak'w Kwáan, our mission is to revitalize our land, languages, traditions, and cultural practices to benefit our community and future generations. We strive to foster a sense of belonging and connection among our people, share our knowledge and stories, and preserve our cultural heritage for the greater good. Our goal is to build a vibrant and thriving Áak'w Kwáan community that honors our ancestors and celebrates our collective identity
History
Wayne Smallwood III started the Aak Kwaan Coalition Council in 2021, revamped our board and structure in 2025 to include more Aak Kwaan leaders and voices.
