Book Projects
Indigenous-led research, history, and storytelling
Our book projects document Áak’w Kwáan history through Indigenous-centered research, storytelling, and cultural responsibility. These works are grounded in oral histories, archival records, and community knowledge, ensuring our stories are preserved and shared with accuracy, respect, and continuity.
What We Do
We develop book projects that:
- Center Áak’w Kwáan voices and lived knowledge
- Reclaim narrative authority from colonial records
- Preserve cultural memory for future generations
- Support education, research, and community learning
Our work prioritizes Indigenous leadership at every stage - from research and interpretation to authorship and publication.
Current Focus
Our current book work includes research into early contact history in Áak’w Kwáan territory, including Spanish encounters in the late 1700s. These projects place Indigenous sovereignty, governance, and continuity at the center of the historical record.
Why This Matters
For generations, Áak’w Kwáan history has been fragmented, misrepresented, or written without Indigenous consent. Our book projects restore balance by ensuring that history is documented through Indigenous knowledge systems and responsibility to truth.
